The Eminent Persons’ Lecture Series (EPLS) of IBS is aimed at promoting good leadership and rewarding excellence. The event is organized in honor of very distinguished individuals and exceptional Nigerians who have displayed high integrity and noble character in their various individual contributions to humanity, national as well as international development. The EPLS serves as a platform for great intellectual discourse for national issues where thought leaders and renowned experts are invited around the world to discuss relevant subjects.

The maiden edition of the EPLS is organized in honor of a very distinguished son of Africa and Nigeria’s former Head of State, Chief Ernest A. Shonekan, GCFR in recognition of his exemplary, selfless contributions and commitments to the peace, unity and national development of Nigeria.

The Lecture titled “Prevailing Socio-Economic and Political Challenges of Nigeria: The Way Forward” will be delivered by Prof. Ademola Popoola, (Professor of International Law) Former Dean, Faculty of Law, ObafemiAwolowo University, Ile-Ife, under the chairmanship of Dr. Christopher Kolade, CON.

The EPLS is scheduled to take place on Thursday 6th August, 2015 by 10:00am at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, 13/15 KofoAbayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
