2nd DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES (DLS)

The 2nd IFE Business School Distinguished Lecture Series with the theme: ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Catalyst for Sustainable National Development’ took place as scheduled on Thursday October 22, 2015, at the Conference Centre and Guest Houses, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, by 11.00am. The Guest Speaker, James Plasman, the Chief Economic Officer at the U.S. Consulate, Lagos was accompanied by Mayowa Obilade, an Economic Specialist at the U.S. Consulate, Lagos, were on ground as well as Dr.Olalekan Yinusa, Special Assistant to the Governor, State of Osun, who came to represent the Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, Executive Governor, State of Osun. Traditional Rulers, Bankers, business owners, traders, undergraduate and postgraduate students from various institutions, members of the civil society, policy makers, religious leaders, distinguished academics and members of the press were all in attendance at the DLS. The participants had ample time to engage the Guest Speaker on the subject – matter during the interactive session, and the event turn out to be highly informative and educative.

The DLS event ended with the presentation of Distinguished Leadership Award to an eminent Nigerian, activist and distinguished son of Africa, Dr.Frederick Fasehun, Founder of Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), in sincere recognition of his exceptional and immense contributions towards societal development, and selfless continued efforts towards the unity of our great country, Nigeria.
